Network Administrator

Responsibilities:

  • Work involves exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to LLamasoft’s computer network.
  • Responsible for supporting the computer needs of all areas of the company.
  • Work in a team based environment supporting systems under the guidance of the IT Manager.
  • Responsible for ensuring the stable operation of the computer network, LAN, WAN and Telecom Systems. This includes planning, designing and developing, installing, configuring, testing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links.
  • Responsible for analyzing and resolving end user hardware, software, network and telecom problems in a timely and accurate fashion. This includes comparing and evaluating possible various options and determining the best course of action. 
  • Responsible for determining whether computer systems or programs need to be modified or replaced, and if replaced, analyzing and selecting the new systems and programs.
  • This position will require thinking outside the box researching and testing new hardware and software.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical experience.
  • Knowledge of information technology and IT products and services including general electronic office equipment (printers, copiers, phones, etc)
  • Excellent Documentation Skills
  • Troubleshooting skills both for software/user processes and mechanical/hardware operation
  • Knowledge of basic inter-networking operations and protocols, with a demonstrated ability to assist with networking projects
  • Ability to troubleshoot network communication issues including both client to site VPN and Site to Site VPN
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Must be a problem-solver who is flexible and responsible and a self-starter.
  • Must be able to support users both locally at the desktop and remotely over the phone.
  • Will be expected to learn new technologies and take on more responsibilities as the firm continues to grow.
  • Management and Installation of Windows Server
  • Experience with Virtualization Technology (VMWare, Hyper-V)
  • Layer 3 switch administration and VLAN experience

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server (basic knowledge of SQL a plus).
  • Experience with Barracuda NG Firewalls
  • Experience working in Data Centers
  • Experience working with Imaging software
  • Experience with Microsoft AD FS
  • Experience with Azure/AWS
